Hiking Solstice Canyon

Last week Edward and I hiked Solstice Canyon in Malibu. We were sans Lucy because she's still just a wee pup and we were afraid she wouldn't make it on our daring adventure.

There was a hollow tree...

and beautiful foliage and blue skies.

At the end of the trail we came across the burned out ruins of a house that was built in the 1950s. The house burned during the 1982 Dayton Canyon Fire. It was really cool to see some of the old appliances and how the house was laid out. It was like looking back into time.

The old oven and stove top.

Ed in the burned out kitchen.

Taking a peek into old man Withers bath tub.

One of the four fireplaces. Apparently, fireplaces were all the rage in 1950s architecture.

After exploring the ruins of the house, we went on to a waterfall. Good thing we didn't bring Lucy along. There are no dogs allowed near the waterfall...boo!!!

Me + waterfall = :)

Thanks for joining us on our adventure!
